happiest place on earth

There's always something quiet nostalgic about going to Disneyland. Doesn't matter how old you are or how young you are, it always seems to bring out the kid in you. The older I get the more excited I get when I go to Disneyland. This past year I bought the annual pass and it was the BEST! idea. Anyone that grew up with Disneyland knows that it is truly the happiest place on the earth.

taking in the city lights with dad

Night out on the town with dad tonight. Dinner at Beso in Hollywood & then taking in the city light at the Griffith Observatory. Always gotta take time out of the busy schedule to touch base with dad haha. Since dinner at Beso with my mom went so well, figured i'd take my dad there. After dinner, dad and I decided to head up to the Griffith Observatory. Fun times, good food & all fun.

fun in the sun in venice

Today we had a jam packed day in Venice. Definitely saw some things that I'd recommend and other things that are just too freaking weird to even mention. Venice is definitely a city that has a little bit of everything for everyone, and when i mean everyone i mean EVERYONE! We saw little bit of art, and a lot of bit of freaks!

WELL WELL WELL! If you are planning to go to Venice, and knack for wackier things in life, visit The Mosaic Tile House. It's $10 bucks that you may or may not regret spending, but it sure as hell is interesting. A labor of love by artist Cherri Pann & Gonzalo Duran, having spent nearly 19 years working on this house (and it's not done yet...). They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well then these pictures will speak for themselves.

After our tour of the Mosaic Tile House, my mom and I decided to hit it down to the Venice Boardwalk, taking in all the sights and sounds of Venice. This being our first time in Venice, this was quiet an experience for us. Unaware of what to expect we were met with a rather eclectic communion of people and street vendors. Without a doubt Venice Beach has a very relaxed bohemian vibe and energy surrounding it, very different than the contrasting Santa Monica, which is only 1.4 miles away. If your looking to have a local beach experience without the glitz and glamour of Santa Monica in Los Angeles, I recommend Venice Beach.

After our rather interesting adventure at the Venice Boardwalk, we took a little walk down the Venice Canals. These canals are very similar to the ones that are down in Belmont Shores in Long Beach, Ca. The houses are really nice, but they always seem to look rather empty. It's always fun to peak through the bushes and see what type of people live down by the water. Surely a great walk to get a little cardio in.

Our final stop was a rather minuscule building known as the Binocular Building in Venice, by famed architect Frank Gehry (who's home we visited in a previous adventure). It was OK! haha don't listen to Siri though, she's sharper than a dull pencil, has a going in circles until i just got on the google maps app. If you are going to make the trip to the Binocular Building, there is a great parking spot right across from it, it's a $1/hour, we took the liberty of parking and taking a little walk around.

What an adventure we went through this week in Venice and can't wait til my next friday adventure. Our Disneyland Passport is ending in May so my next friday adventure will be to DISNEYLAND
til then!

whales and kisses

Today was definitely a kickass friday! Spring Break was in full affect, after the night I had last night with Brittany Hampton (@brittany_hampton) at Bottega Louie and Library Bar in DTLA. We spent the morning whale watching in downtown long beach! First time for both of us and what an experience. We did see whales "spouting" and leaving their "fin print" haha good times but the day was still not over...

...with the night still young, it was a fancy friday type of night tonight to take my mom out to a nice dinner. Hollywood! My mom and I decided to go to beso tonight, the resaurant owned by Eva Longoria, and boy do i recommend it! The food was AMAZING!, only down side is the fact that it's so damn dark! (tip: make reservations, doesn't look too crowded but its gets crowded)

macaroons!

This Spring Break was positioning itself into being definitely a rather insigiicant, bland break, but tonight turned it around without a doubt. Brittany Hampton (@brittany_hampton) and I, decided to bust a mission, heading out to DTLA after work. Making a quick stop at Bottega Louie (one of my new secret obsessions) & ending the night at Library Bar (one of my new favorite hole in the wall bars). If you need something quick and fun todo that's not too out of the way I recommend either of these two places. (WARNING: parking is a killer, it gets to the point where you don't care how much you pay you just want to park)
